Roll-off dumpster rental in Atlanta

The yard is at 4445 Wendell Dr SW in the Fulton Industrial District — unincorporated Fulton County, just outside Atlanta city limits. Downtown is approx. 10 road miles east, around 15 minutes.

Atlanta is where the trucks start. The yard sits on Wendell Dr SW in the Fulton Industrial District: an Atlanta mailing address, but just outside city limits in unincorporated Fulton County. Delivery is same-day or next-day across the city, depending on availability — calling before noon gives the best chance of same-day.

It is a city of 498,715 at the 2020 Census, mostly in Fulton County and reaching into DeKalb. City bulk pickup takes building material only in small amounts: up to 4 cubic yards from a resident's own upkeep of the property, with no roofing shingles, brick, plaster or concrete, and nothing at all generated by contractors (Code §130-40(c)). At the curb, C&D is limited to small owner projects that fit in a 96-gallon cart without sticking out of the top (§130-45(b)). A kitchen, a roof or a whole-house clear-out is roll-off work.

Local knowledge

Getting our bearings in Atlanta

Knowing a city properly is the difference between covering it and showing up with the right box.

  • The yard is outside city limits — the Census geocoder and Fulton County's own city-limits map put 4445 Wendell Dr SW in unincorporated Fulton County, the Fulton Industrial District, where Fulton County (not the City) licenses businesses.
  • Two counties — the City of Atlanta is mostly in Fulton County and also extends into DeKalb County. The City's solid waste and street rules apply on both sides of the line.
  • Contractors haul their own debris — City code says contractors must remove all the solid waste their work produces, and each property owner is responsible for making sure it is disposed of properly (§130-3(d)).
  • Bulk pickup is by appointment — the City says every bulk collection has to be scheduled, and since 16 February 2026 it runs on the resident's regular weekly collection day. Code allows 12 call-in pickups a year; past that it is $336.38 per one-truck load (§130-40(d), §130-84(e)(3)).
  • No City household hazardous waste program — the City points residents to its recycling partner, the Center for Hard-to-Recycle Materials (CHaRM) at 1110 Hill St SE, for hard-to-recycle items including household hazardous waste and tires. It works by appointment only: 404-600-6386.
  • Latex paint — the City says latex paint is not hazardous but has to be solidified before it goes out; liquid paint never goes in the garbage.

How we reach Atlanta

From Wendell Dr SW every part of the city is in range — downtown is approx. 10 road miles. Same-day or next-day across Atlanta, depending on availability; call before noon for the best chance of same-day.

What comes out of Atlanta properties

Roofing jobs in 10s and 20s, kitchens, baths and flooring in 15s and 20s, bigger remodels and estate clear-outs in 20s and 30s, demolition and new construction in 30s and 40s, and a 10 or 15 for concrete, dirt, brick and gravel — heavy material goes in the smaller boxes to stay inside transport weight limits. Load it level with the top rim; an overfilled container cannot be hauled. City code keeps contractor debris, and anything from repairs, rebuilding or a lot cleared for building, out of bulk collection altogether (§130-40(a), (c)(4)).

Georgia decides what stays out of the container. Rule 391-3-4-.04(6)(b) bans lead-acid batteries, liquid waste, regulated hazardous waste and PCB waste from every disposal facility in the state, and under Rule .04(6)(c) the person who throws out a banned item and the site that takes it are both in violation. EPD says whole tires have been banned from landfills since 1994. Fridges, freezers and A/C units need any remaining refrigerant recovered first under federal EPA rules (40 CFR 82.155). No liquid paint, solvents, fuel, oil, propane tanks, gas cylinders or medical waste; dried-out paint is fine. Asphalt shingles can go to a C&D or municipal landfill but not an inert one (Rule .04(4)(d)), so keep a clean load of concrete, brick or dirt free of shingles and trash. City code also bars discarding household hazardous material on any property in the city (§130-11(a)(2)) — CHaRM takes it by appointment.

Permits, placement and who may haul in Atlanta

Who may haul — the rule that matters: City code requires a permit to collect, transport or dispose of single-family residential garbage and other solid waste generated by another person (§130-51(a)), and a permit from the commissioner to collect or transport commercial, industrial and other non-residential solid waste (§130-52(a)). Collection vehicles must be marked with the business name and vehicle number, and dumpsters kept covered, leak-resistant and in good repair (§130-52(b)). The market is open — every private contractor may serve any customer who asks (§130-52(d)) — and we found no City franchise. We're licensed and insured.

On your driveway: we found no City permit, time limit or setback rule for a roll-off on private property, and the City treats private property as the first choice: it issues a street permit only when a dumpster cannot be accommodated on private property (§138-61(d)(2)). Our crew confirms the spot with you at drop-off.

In the street, on the sidewalk or in the right-of-way: §138-61(b) makes it unlawful to place a dumpster in the public right-of-way without first getting a dumpster permit from the Department of Transportation (ATLDOT). The fee is $20 plus $10 per calendar day for up to 100 linear feet, rising to $15, $20 and $25 a day for longer stretches, and a permit lasts no more than six months (§138-61(d)(1), (e)). Insurance must name the City as additional insured, at an amount set by the City's risk manager (§138-61(d)(3)); ATLDOT also asks the provider to sign a Certification Compliance agreement, and non-franchise right-of-way permits can be applied for online. The container must show the provider's name and phone number and carry high-intensity retro-reflective sheeting on all four corners (§138-61(f)).

Where a street dumpster can sit: not within 40 feet of a bus stop, 30 feet of an intersection, 20 feet of a crosswalk or an accessible parking space, or 15 feet of a fire hydrant, and not on a sidewalk unless no other spot is feasible (§138-61(g)). It goes right next to the address on the permit and is tarped in transit (§138-61(h)). Fines run up to $1,000 a day, and each day is a separate offense (§138-61(i), (j)).

State routes: GDOT's encroachment rules list no permit for putting a roll-off on state right-of-way, so on a state route the container goes on private property.

Just outside the city: in unincorporated Fulton County, where the yard is, anyone collecting or disposing of solid waste for a fee must have all required permits and register with the Fulton County Department of Public Works (County Code §70-84(c)).

Knocking something down: Georgia EPD wants a demolition notice 10 working days (Monday to Friday) before every regulated demolition, even when no asbestos is present, filed on EPD forms through GEOS. Homes with four or fewer dwelling units are exempt unless they are part of a larger project, and all regulated asbestos has to be abated before the building comes down. Asbestos waste may go only to a landfill EPD has authorized for it, sealed and labeled (Rule 391-3-4-.04(8)(b)), so it never goes in our containers — tell us if the survey finds any.

How it works

Booking a dumpster in Atlanta

Booking a container here takes one phone call and about five minutes.

  1. 1

Call and tell us the job

One short conversation. We ask the location, what you are clearing — a cleanout, a renovation, a roof, a yard, a job site — roughly how much there is, and how much room the driveway or lot gives us.

  2. 2

We size it and quote it flat

You get one number that can cover delivery, pickup, disposal, the standard 7-day rental and an included weight allowance. If a smaller box does the job we will say so. If it is concrete, shingles or dirt, we say up front that weight decides the size.

  3. 3

    Delivered where you want it

The driver sets the container on the driveway, lot or job site where you asked, with protective boards under it if you want them. Often same-day or next-day, depending on availability. You do not need to be home.

  4. 4

    Load at your own pace

Keep it level with the top rim and keep the banned items out — paint and solvents, chemicals, oil and fuel, batteries, tires, propane tanks and gas cylinders, medical waste, asbestos, and fridges or A/C units with refrigerant. Need more time or a swap mid-job? One call.

  5. 5

We haul it and dispose of it right

The load goes to a permitted facility for that kind of waste — Georgia allows nothing else — with metal, concrete, wood and yard waste recycled through local facilities whenever possible. You get your driveway back the way you left it.

Local answers

Dumpster rental in Atlanta — common questions

How fast can you deliver in Atlanta?

Same-day or next-day across the city, depending on availability. Call (470) 407-6185 before noon for the best chance of same-day — we answer 24/7.

Is your yard in the City of Atlanta?

No. It has an Atlanta mailing address, but 4445 Wendell Dr SW is in the Fulton Industrial District, unincorporated Fulton County, just outside city limits.

Do I need a permit for a dumpster in Atlanta?

Not that we found for a private driveway. In a street, sidewalk or right-of-way, yes — an ATLDOT dumpster permit under §138-61: $20 plus $10 a day for up to 100 feet, for up to six months, and only if it cannot fit on private property.

Will the City haul my remodel debris?

Only a little. Bulk pickup takes up to 4 cubic yards of building material from your own upkeep — no shingles, brick, plaster or concrete — and nothing generated by contractors (§130-40). A roll-off is the simple answer.

How much does a dumpster cost in Atlanta?

Generally $350–$750, depending on the size, the debris, the weight, the rental length and the address — flat-rate wherever possible with no hidden fees, and most rentals include a standard 7-day period. Call (470) 407-6185 for a quote.
