Commercial Dumpster Rental across metro Atlanta
Commercial customers have a different problem from homeowners: the job runs on a schedule, with crews, tenants or customers working around it, and the container has to be there and gone on time. Office cleanouts, retail renovations, restaurant and kitchen remodels, warehouse cleanups, property managers turning over apartments, foreclosure cleanouts, commercial construction and demolition — the work is routine for us, and the timing is the service.
One thing to know up front: who may haul a business's waste is set city by city. The City of Atlanta runs an open market — every private contractor holding a permit from the commissioner may serve any customer who asks (City Code Sec. 130-52(a), (d)) — but some of the cities around it run their own sanitation or grant a franchise, and a few say private haulers are not permitted. So for a business inside one of those cities, we check the City's rules before booking a container. Each city page says what that code says.

Offices, retail, restaurants and property turnovers
A retailer renovating a store, an office floor cleared out, a restaurant kitchen remodel, a warehouse clearing pallets, packaging and shelving, a property manager with apartments to turn over or a foreclosure to clear, a community or event cleanup — these jobs make bulky debris in volume, and the 20, 30 and 40 yard containers exist for exactly that. Restaurant and kitchen work is the one that runs heavy, because of the tile. Metal, concrete, asphalt, cardboard and wood are recycled through approved Atlanta-area facilities whenever possible.
Who may haul what is written into each code. Inside the City of Atlanta, collecting or transporting commercial, industrial and non-residential solid waste needs a permit from the commissioner (Sec. 130-52(a)), collection vehicles must be marked with the business name and vehicle number (Sec. 130-52(b)(5)), and the market is open (Sec. 130-52(d)). Sandy Springs grants non-exclusive contracts for placing and servicing containers, with a five percent infrastructure maintenance fee (Secs. 46-20, 46-26); Marietta needs an annual, non-exclusive Public Works permit (Secs. 5-10-060, 5-10-070); Alpharetta a city solid waste collection permit (Secs. 38-34, 38-35); Johns Creek a registration and a city contract (Secs. 42-21, 42-23); Smyrna a mayor-and-council permit (Sec. 86-56); College Park a $200 non-exclusive permit for waste the city does not collect (Sec. 10-110.1(b)); and Duluth and Lawrenceville a C&D hauler registration with the City Clerk (Secs. 13-26, 30-40). In the unincorporated counties, Fulton requires registration with its Department of Public Works (Sec. 70-84(c)), Cobb an annual solid waste permit (Sec. 102-53) and Gwinnett a C&D service provider authorization (Sec. 82-61). We are licensed & insured, and each city page states its rule plainly.
Placement on commercial property
On a private lot, in a loading area or on a job site we place where the truck can reach and the crews can load. A container in a public street is a different question: in the City of Atlanta it needs a Department of Transportation dumpster permit first (City Code Sec. 138-61), issued only where the container cannot be accommodated on private property, with insurance naming the City as additional insured, the provider's name and phone number on the container and reflective sheeting on all four corners. We found no Georgia DOT permit for a roll-off on a state route right-of-way, so there the container stays on the property. In Sandy Springs, containers stay off public rights-of-way, must show the company name and phone number in letters at least 1½ inches high, and are serviced Monday to Saturday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. (Secs. 46-24, 46-22(c)(1)). We build that into the delivery plan.

Commercial dumpster rental — the local specifics
Several cities around Atlanta keep commercial collection to themselves or one company, and a roll-off at a business is part of that. Norcross gives its franchisee, Waste Management, all refuse collection in the city, and for commercial roll-off service refuse includes construction debris (Secs. 36-202, 36-204(b), 36-209(f)). East Point requires owners to engage the City for construction and demolition debris removal and all commercial customers to use the City's service, under one exclusive agreement (Secs. 7-2005(a), 7-2011). DeKalb County, which provides sanitation in Brookhaven, Tucker and Dunwoody, says commercial establishments in unincorporated DeKalb and in cities under an agreement with the county must use county commercial service and that private haulers are not permitted; Brookhaven and Tucker require a city or county licence to collect and haul refuse (Brookhaven Sec. 22-3(b); Tucker Sec. 36-3(b)). Decatur services all areas itself and requires city approval, written authorization and a red city decal on each commercial container (Secs. 82-38(b), 82-39). Roswell has businesses and apartments of six or more units rent city commercial containers (Sec. 24.3.1). Kennesaw's website says private haulers are not permitted in the city, though its code text is less clear. In every one of those cities we check the City's rules before booking a container inside city limits, and we tell you where your job stands before the truck leaves the yard.

Answers
Commercial Dumpster Rental — your questions answered
Do you offer ongoing service for my business?
We run daily, weekly and long-term roll-off rentals, scheduled swap-outs and job-site rotations for contractors, property managers and businesses with ongoing projects. Whether a roll-off can carry your regular business garbage depends on the city: Norcross, East Point, Decatur, Roswell and the DeKalb-served cities keep it to the city, the county or a franchisee. We check the rules for your address first.
Can you deliver outside business hours?
We take calls 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and we work to your site's access window. In Sandy Springs, container service is limited by city code to Monday to Saturday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Can you handle multiple sites?
Yes. Several containers at once, staggered deliveries and scheduled swap-outs across job sites are routine for contractors and property managers.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes — licensed & insured, with professional, insured drivers. Ask when you book if your property manager or general contractor needs paperwork.
Do the rules differ by city?
Yes. The City of Atlanta is an open market for permitted haulers; Sandy Springs, Marietta, Alpharetta, Johns Creek, Smyrna and College Park each run a permit, contract or registration; Duluth and Lawrenceville register C&D haulers; and Norcross, East Point, Decatur, Roswell, Kennesaw and the DeKalb-served cities keep collection to the city, the county or a franchisee. Each city page says what that code says, and we tell you straight on the phone.
